7) I modified srconvrt.c and timeshif.c to take an extra parameter, the “p” parameter. The p parameter will automatically set the expansion factor for the user based on a “pitch offset” that they associate with it; that is, if a user writes –p 2, this will move the output up by two pitch half-steps. So if the original note contained an E pitch, it would be moved to something that was of an F# pitch one step above that. The way I reasoned about this was that octaves are obtained by doubling the frequency, and there are 12 halfsteps in an octave. Therefore, to get to the next halfstep, the frequency is multiplied by a factor of 2^(1/12).
